Confessions in China: #103

I'm afraid that when I go back to America I will no longer know how to properly use slang and African American Vernacular. The thought that I might have trouble communicating with my homies, after living in China for so long, makes me a little apprehensive. I keep picturing myself surrounded by friends, everyone talking and incorporating the latest slang vocabulary into the conversation, and all the while, I'm just standing there with that awkward I-don't-know-what's-going-on smile. I'll be at parties doing the heel-toe and the tootsie roll while everyone else is doing the most current dance moves. I may be exaggerating a bit, but I think my fears are valid. Help.
